About Me

My name is Cathryn Paternoster. I am the wife of a very popular and charismatic Stake President in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I currently serve as the ward young womens president. I am excited to share stories with LDS sisters everywhere about my husband in his calling and about the dear precious young women whom I have been called to serve.

The Bare Naked Ladies

Sisters, I was absolutely horrified the other day to overhear some of the young men talking about going to see 'the bare naked ladies'.  They were discussing it quite openly right in the hallway at church and one of their leaders was with them but didn't say a thing!  I almost fainted.
As the young women’s President I will be ensuring that there are absolutely no more joint activities with these young men until the bishop has met with them and assured me that they have confessed and repented.
Naked women should never be on the minds of our young priesthood holders who administer the sacrament each week and are preparing for missions.  It is utterly deplorable to think of these young men going to see a show featuring ladies who are not just dressed inappropriately but who are completely bare.  What possible redeeming qualities could such a show have?  President Paternoster has assured me that in his day the youth of the church never entertained such thoughts nor was such entertainment even available.  The last days are truly upon us Sisters and we cannot stand by (like that young mens leader) and allow Satan to win the souls of our young men.
I do this post as a warning.  Please keep your ears open to the conversations of the young men that you too may help them avoid the snares that are so prevalent in these the latter days.

  1. This is terrible! I was baking wheat bread to take to a partially active Sister whose coffee machine we removed last week from her home, when I read your post. This is so disturbing.

I heard about these "bare naked ladies" in our Ward last week as well from our daughter, who mentioned the young men in her Sunday School class were talking about them. I hope this isn't become a trend.

Like you, we immediately informed a member of the bishopric because this must stop! Our innocent daughter should be sitting in Sunday School basking in the spirit, not listening to young men talk about bare naked ladies out loud in front of everyone. Its a terrible example, especially for the young and our investigators.

What was worse was that one of these boys was the Teacher's Quorum President! (gasp). Like your husband, President Paternoster recommended, my daughter always refers to this young man at school (they are in some of the same classes togther) as President everywhere she see him, so he really should be acting in a manner appropriate to his preistood position at all times and setting the proper example.

And where was the Quorum advisor? We couldn't find him anywhere. When my husband served as 1st Counselor in the Young Men's Presidency, he always followed the young men around everywhere they went making sure that we setting the proper example. He even made sure they flushed the urinals in the bathrooms and washed their hands. We don't want Young Men handling the sacrament who haven't, do we?

Perhaps your husband could come talk to these Young Men at one of our Firesides next month? They would be so glad to hear President Paternoster's wisdom and wonderful spirit on this matter.

It is such an inspiration to have such strong examples of Priestood Leadership in our church.

    Thank you,

    Sister Maxwelhouse.

  2. I think sister you might be jumping to conclusions.

Perhaps they were referring to the Bear Necked Ladles?

  3. Barenaked Ladies (often abbreviated BNL or occasionally BnL) is a Canadian alternative rock band. The band is currently composed of Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, and Tyler Stewart. Barenaked Ladies formed in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario, then a suburban municipality outside the City of Toronto

  4. So anonymous are you telling me that Bare naked ladies is a music group? How outrageous! Have they no respect? You see this is how Satan gets into the mind of our youth. A woman's body should never be naked, except of course to wash. I'm not sure if the name of the band is to make fun of the woman's sacred body or if it's supposed to give subliminal messages that it's OK for the woman's body to be naked. What ever the reason I know none of my children will be listening to them.

  5. Since you are the Young lady’s leader, I do not understand how you could have missed this feed back from the Young Men’s leaders during your ward leadership meetings.

  6. sister why are you worried about others...why not worry about your own eternal salvation instead of being a busy body ..each individual has their own agency...if they want to swing from a flag pole naked it is no business of yours no matter whether you were the wife of the president of the church
